Paint Correction

Paint correction is a service that takes our exterior maintenance package to the next level. Prior to correcting paint, surface contamination is removed from the body of the car and on the windows to safely polish the vehicle. The paint correction restores color to dull paint and eliminates scratches, swirls, and marring. This step makes a dramatic difference on all cars, increasing the value and improving the look, shine, and gloss to the paint. Unlike some detailers who apply glaze or wax to hide paint imperfections, we at Maestro will remove defects without using "fillers".

Paint correction and protection is a long and labor-intensive process that consist of compounding and polishing to bring clarity on the finish. With the use of proper tools and techniques, paint correction can remove up to 80-90%+ paint defects without jeopardizing the paint. Each vehicle will be assessed using different pads/polishers to figure out the best combination of action to use to remove surface defects. We recommend vehicles in good condition undergo a one-step polish. Vehicles that are neglected will require a multi-step correction. The severity of the paint is assessed after washing the car.

One - Two Step Polishing

The Polish & Protect correction is for vehicles with light paint defects. Polishing the vehicle will restore color to dull paint and eliminate very light swirl marks, scratches, and marring. This process greatly enhances surface gloss by removing defects that mask the paint's clarity. High-quality hand wax will be applied to add depth and protection after polishing.

  • Clay bar used to remove bonded surface contaminants on paint and glass.

  • Two step polish used to remove surface defects using Rupes

Multi-Step Correction

Using multi-step correction will greatly improve the paint on the vehicle to a show car finish. Removing or improving deep scratches and defects can bring back depth, gloss, clarity, and reflection on the paint. Performing a multi-step paint correction will remove scratches that cannot be done with polish. A true paint correction will remove, not mask surface defects permanently. The finish of the paint will be greatly refined, resulting in a better than new condition.
